Just got my hands on Plays and Playwrights 2007, the latest in the series put out by Martin Denton at New York Theatre Experience, Inc. Highly recommended, especially if you're teaching an acting class and looking for scenes for the students.
Also, I wrote the foreword, so I get nine bucks every copy sold. Would that that last sentence were true.
You can buy it right here on the world-wide internet web: www.nyte.org.
11 new plays, all fresh from the Off-Off/Indie rainforest.

little league
Check out www.leagueofindietheater.blogspot.com for a spirited discussion on all this Basic Showcase Code reform hoo-hah. Some great ideas and arguments.
I'm still carrying a torch for this proposed League, but here's what I'm wondering:
Is this a membership organization where you pay dues and elect chairpeople and all that?
How does this operate differently than, say, the Community Dish?
What concrete services can this League provide? If you're paying dues, what do you get?
Feels like there have been several bouts of great energy and passion around this idea, but it's getting time to figure out if there's an actual thing here.
Brass tacks and all that.
What do you think?
